Roadtest: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review

Also in my last haul I bought Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation- mainly after seeing Tanya from Pixi2woo on youtube wearing it, and by the sound of it.
As I am still trying to use up my old stuff I've been testing this out here and there so it wont be a lifetime before I'm actually wearing it daily. I'm sorry for my pics being taken in different lighting as well as it will change the colouring.
Packaging: This is in an attractive glass bottle with a pump top which will always be a +++ in my books. It is very easy to control the amount that comes out.
Product: Has a thin(ish) & spreadable consistency, and has light- medium coverage which is buildable. As the name & the aim suggests it has a dewy finish.
Claims: I have to agree with what it says on the bottle. I like how it makes my skin look and how it feels on the skin, particularly because it adds moisture onto my skin. It may not be good for someone with oily skin, however, because that is the last thing they need lol.

Roadtest
Day 1
 Le Naked face. Eughh.
The first time I tried this out I thought I would go no primer or concealer. I didn't see if it lasted a long time as I wouldn't normally wear it in this way. My colour matching isn't too bad, it's always better to be darker than lighter anyway. And if it was any more noticeable I would mix it with a lighter colour.
Anyway- I like the way it feels on my skin. It would feel yucky & greasy if you have oily skin, however... although if you powder over the top it would help to last.

Day 2- one side with concealer underneath, the other is foundation only.

I don't know if you can tell any different but it looks pretty nice to me. Except the undereye area could do with a little more lovin'- I don't intentionally apply fdtn there.

Day 3
(I got a little too happy with the concealer underneath my eyes lol) I didn't get to give it a chance to dry but it would be best to apply even a tiny bit of setting powder over the top no matter your skin type. I applied a thin layer all over and then a tiny bit extra where I needed it, so I didn't need to apply a second layer of concealer.
It has a really nice natural look, definitely not cakey at all. Of course that's up to how many layers you apply lol.

Mid Day ~4 hours wear.

Not as fresh looking, but still not bad.

& Lastly ~9 hours later. My foundation is still there! Although I look a little greasy, but a slight touch up of powder and I'm good to go.

Overall I do like this foundation, I love the finish and it is a nice wake up foundation for your skin. I would recommend if you're on the normal/ dry side but also to wear a primer & powder as well.
Thanks for reading!

Roadtest: Essence I love Stage Primer Review & Comparison

I have been an avid fan of Too Faced Shadow Insurance for the biggest time, before I seriously got into makeup I don't know how I could have lived without it. Before TFSI I tried L'oreal Decrease & because I didn't know any better it worked alright. I've only tried a few over primers (Australis Eyeshadow Primer, Face of Australia matte & shimmery eye primers) but I could never stray away from my love.
When I was hauling last time I came across the Essence line & thought I'd give the primer a go. Only because I'd like to have a reliable backup that I could places with TFSI from time to time (my first TFSI did last for 2 years, though).

Packaging: Essence I <3 Stage (EI<3S) Eyeshadow base is in a plastic bottle with a doe-foot applicator. It has 0.13 fl.oz/ 4ml of product, which is surprising because TFSI is 0.35 oz/ 11g. The only downside with the packaging is that it would be harder to get all the product out towards the end, unlike being able to cut open a tube. However the wand is quite flexible so you should be able to dig it out from the corners lol.

Texture: EI<3S has a consistency of a liquid concealer so it is really easy to spread all over the eyelid. It blankets imperfections on the eyelids such as veins & discolouration which so you could use it on it's own if you'd like. All you need is a few dots to spread it all over the eyelid. It doesn't take too long to dry but I like to make sure it is still tacky so my eyeshadow sticks. It would also be nice to use as an under eye concealer on it's own (if it matches your skin tone, of course).

Compared to TFSI I think EI<3S is on par. Although it had mainly bad reviews on makeupalley.com I think if you couldn't get your hands on anything else that this is a really good primer. I had no problems with creasing and my eye makeup lasted all day with a good colour payoff.

Here is my roadtest with Essence I <3 Stage primer review.

Day1
On top of my primers I used Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Tenacious Teal, MUG Mermaid, Seamist & Razzelberry.

Lunch time ~4 hours later. Still holding up nicely on both eyes.

~9 hours later. Not as fresh- definitely on the lower lash line but I can't remember how much primer I put there, & minimal creasing. The color tattoo was an unfair advantage so I had to test it again.

Day 2- - I applied too much Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil (french fries) to the eye with TFSI so obviously that creased hideously, creasing is not normally that bad with TFSI.

~9 hours after application. So the TFSI wouldn't have performed that terribly but you can see EL<3S still looked nice hours later. I used shadows from the UD Naked 1 palette.

Day 3
These sets of pictures were 9 hours apart, and I didn't use any other base for fair testing. The colours both stayed on pretty well, but the Essence eye looks fresher.

All in all, I think Essence I <3 Stage is a nice primer that helps my makeup last & prevents creasing, and  I would probably buy it again to alternate between my TFSI. It's definitely worth a try for $4.95 compared to TFSI ( I buy it on eBay for ~$9.95 not incl. shipping), although noting the amount of product in each one they both work out around the same value for money. You can buy it from Target or Priceline in Australia.

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you've tried this and what you thought.

Dolly Makeup

Although I didn't picture dolls when I was doing my makeup this night, I suppose looking back at the pics with how my eyes were lined, my falsies, my high-necked lacey dress & my extremely false-looking smile it would appear that I did lol. So I thought why not name it that, then lol. CSB, right? :) I thought so.

I did this look for my friends birthday, I really only wanted to have big, dramatic winged liner but somehow it doesn't look how dramatic I pictured it to be, lol. Ahwell!

See, I look creepy here don't I???

Winter Smokes FOTD

*Ahem* Yes this another late FOTD.. about a month late woopsie!
Winter is coming to an end here, the weekends are becoming summery <3 yay. But this past week it was raining & cold as hale but looks like its going away. Soon I'll be ready for summer and everyone else will be getting ready for winter lol, damn being in a different hemisphere. But I will probably want to wear heavier makeup just like I've been inspired by summer makeup lol.

Anyways, I hope y'all like this look. It's just a nice light, brown smokey eye that's nice for daytime.

Products:
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk (although the name on the lid states otherwise lol)
UD Naked 2: YDK
Busted
I think I also used a touch of snakebite in the crease too,
Blackout
Bootycall
Then I used PP as a liner as well
And BYS Gel liner on the waterline & blended into lashline with blackout.

Cheeks: ahh can't remember but since I had only bought a few with me.... it's probably my peach one from Bourjois.

Lips: Maybelline Colorsensational l/s in Are You Red-dy.

As usual thank you for looking! xx

HG Makeup Remover Wipes, Garnier Clean Sensitive.

Welp, the title says it all haha. I mentioned this in my Skincare routine post, but is it so weird that I want to rave about it? No, I don't think so lol.

I have tried maany wipes before, but nothing seriously compares to these babies. Removing your makeup at night is just as important as wearing it so you needa find the right ones, 'specially if you like to go without cleansing.
I have used them once before, but when I went to buy them again they didn't have it in for ages. And lo-and-behold, I go in one day and they're backk! Which I was so happy about, and I think they were only changing the packaging. As you can see it's for dry sensitive skin. Most wipes can leave your face feeling tight afterwards but this does not. I can go without using my face wash & moisturizer for a little bit, whereas usually I don't want to leave my skin without them.

It's hard to see, but these wipes are very 'moist' (I'm sorry, I know heaps of people hate that word !! lol) and you can see the bubbles of moisture on them (IRL, anyway.) So afterwards your skin still has some of that moisture on it. These are super soft & feel great around the eyes.
With one wipe, most of my makeup came off. I go over my skin again just for good measure. It also is good at removing waterproof makeup & doesn't hurt the eyes. Did I mention it is also so soft?

All in all, I will continue to buy these wipes again & again. I haven't tried the wipes from this line for normal skin, but please let me know if you have and your thoughts. The price for me was AU$8.95.
Thanks for reading, if your still looking for good makeup remover wipes I definitely recommend these.

*Disclaimer: I bought these with my own money, I am not affiliated with Garnier and all thoughts are 100% my own.*

Masquerade Makeup: Drama if you dare.

A few weekends ago we went to a masquerade ball. Of course I wanted to do big, dramatic makeup for it lol. It was a really good night... when they started playing good music lol. The dress code was meant to be strict but there were quite a few people in short club dresses and people without masks... which is not what a masquerade ball is about! lol. Anyway, apart from that, it was reallly hot in the ball area and because my mask was tucked into my hair it was hard to take it off without my eyes smudging lol.

 Before changing:

 Products:
Australis Paparazzi Perfect fdtn
Coastal scents concealer palette
Nars Orgasm
Nude by Nature Eye Definer- contour
Nyx Chrome White E/S- Highlighter

TFSI
Nyx JEP Black Bean- Cut into crease, outer lid, lower lash line. Cut
Nyx JEP Cottage Cheese- Inner lid, highlighting.
1. Stila Kitten- Inner Lid
Sleek Bad Girl- 2. Gun Metal 3.Underground 4. Noir
5. Blade 6. Innocence
Glitter: MKA Glitter.
 BYS lashes- Starlette

 Lips
Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brule & Nyx Sugarpie L/G

To get the sharp line in the crease firstly I made a rough line with Black Bean and a small eyeliner brush and then I went over it with Noir & an angled eyeliner brush for further definition. I really like how it turned out :)

A few things I'd like to point out:
Eyelashes: One went on weirdly so I had to pull it off and put it back on, removing some of the eyeliner. I  fixed it after the pics.
Also the eyes aren't completely even, but I didn't want to ruin the whole thing to fix that lol. And I wasn't too keen on the lip colour for some reason IDK why... but I didn't reapply anyway lol.

In my dress  (Don't have any full length pics yet!)
Looking creepy in my mask ahah.

Thanks so much for looking, hope you like! xx

My Updated Skincare Routine

Its been a while since I've posted my skincare routine/ products and as you can imagine a few things have changed since then. So if anyone is interested in what I use continue on!

Please note: My skin is dry/dehydrated & I get the occasional pimple. Ever since getting a series of facial peels a few years ago pimples are a rare occasion these days. However I still have quite a bit of scarring & redness.

Morning:
Splash with cold *water* only!
Rosehip oil/ DMK Beta Gel (healing serum) <--- well honestly I need to buy more, but if I had it I would use it lol. But I am planning to buy the Beta Gel when I feel like spending the money.
Moisturizer: DMK Biogen C Cream with Herb & Mineral Mist. You have to use the mist with DMK moisturizers because it pulls the cream transdermally into the skin in order for it to work. I love the mist anyway, It has the same uses as a makeup setting spray or rosewater mist, except it draws the product into the skin cells.

Night:
Remove makeup with Garnier M/U remover cloths. HG status baby!

First cleanse with DMK Milk cleanser. I use this over my eyes as well but have to be careful to not get it into them.
2nd cleanser (if needed) with Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power Cream Wash

Tone with EVOO. (if you're going to use a kitchen oil, EVOO is the one you want as it is non-comedogenic.) This gets rid of any extra makeup & I also use it as an overnight moisturizer.

I keep it in a re-used makeup remover container for easy pour-age.

Pimple Cream, Clearasil Pimple Clearing Cream. Don't use this all the time otherwise I'm afraid my skin will build a tolerance to it. Here's a tip: if you can feel a pimple building up under the skin but it hasn't shown it's ugly head yet, apply a little bit of a clay mask to it and leave it on overnight to help draw it out.

Eye Cream: Skinsitut Eye Believe
I don't use this every night as it can make the skin feel dry & it can ball up if you use too much, only if I need extra brightening.
Occasional (2x a week): Biore Warming scrub before Milk cleanser (I don't use the Neutrogena cleanser if I do this). I treat it as an exfoliating process.

Also I have been meaning to get back into Aspirin Masks for quite a while as I don't officially exfoliate. I would like to have a few more facials to get rid of my scarring but it's like being a mechanic; they fix everyone else's car while they drive around in a bomb! :P

Thanks for reading, Just wanted to let you know I've been mucking around for a while trying to figure out what works, but at the moment I'm happy with what I'm doing! Everybody's skin changes as they get older so you'll have to keep up with it.

*disclaimer: All products bought by me. I work with DMK & Skinsitut in the salon but was not asked to review their products, & all thoughts are my own. YMMV- the same skin care products wont work for everyone*
