My favourites of 2012!

I am quite late in this post, as January is almost over already but I've wanted to put together a post on my favorite makeup looks that I did last year! Although I still have some that I can't believe I haven't posted yet I will just put up the ones I posted on my blog. At the end I have a few fave products of last year.

A collage of a few makeup looks I did in 2012! Sorry it's not well done I don't have photoshop XD

~March 12~
The reason why I'm starting a couple of months in is that I did do a couple before but nothing really stood out until now ;) And I did not pick a fave in every month either.
Tropical Paradise

Nude & Purple Arabic Look
Neutral but dramatic at the races
~June~
 Barbie Girl

Mod Cat Eye Makeup

 Purple & Gold
Burnt Sunset

~July~

 Black & Gold Cut Crease
So they are pretty much my faves for 2012... I tried to get it down to as few as I could but there are still heaps here! And for myself my faves out of these would have to be... the gold & purple look & the dramatic masquerade because I was super duper pleased in how they turned out :D

Fave Products of 2012
I am going to keep this part as short & sweet as possible without rambling on too much! Most of these were bought in 2012 but there were heaps of products bought before that I started loving through the year!

Rimmel had really impressed me with their foundations, I will continue to use Wake Me Up for as long as I can! I also really like the stay matte powder, even though I like the glowy look I set my makeup lightly with this and the glow still shines through. Both products really helped me through the year!!

I bought so many nice lipsticks that I liked but nothing will compare to these 2... especially Viva Glam Nicki! wow I am in love with the formula and I really like the smell of MAC Lipsticks!
I adore these face brushes from Real Techniques.... They are so soft and can be used for multipurposes, e.g. I use the blush brush for bronzer, the contouring for blush, the precise foundation of undereye concealer etc

So hard for me to choose a couple of cheek products! MAC Lightscapade has been a daily use product for me ever since I got it, the Inglot blush is a colour to die for and Jordana blushes are highly pigmented! (this is in Coral Sandy Reef). If I had gotten NARS Laguna earlier it would be included in here!
I feel really fortunate that I had been able to slowly build my collection with a few better quality products last year, if everything wasn't so expensive over here I would definitely have quality over quantity! The inglot eyeshadows are a dream to work with, although I haven't used them as much as I'd like, and the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette has been a go to for me with neutral eye looks!
Maybelline Color Tattoo bases are a must to use under corresponding eyeshadow colours and they make it stand out so much more! (although Nyx white base does the same thing, too). I have been in love with the Maybelline Master Precise eyeliner ever since I bought it, and the I <3 Extreme volume mascara by Essence has been a daily product!
I have been expanding my O.P.I & China Glaze collection thanks to a certain sale website, and I love the formulas! Although there are always hits & misses, both of these brands have been stand outs to me. The colours pictured here are O.P.I The Living Daylights, O.P.I Koala Berry, China Glaze Snow Globe, China Glaze Pool Party.
Although I don't talk about my perfume collection (which I have been meaning to go through for quite some time now!) I have been loving these 2 that I received as gifts last year, Jennifer Lopez Live & Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty.

Thanks so much for reading! Let me know what your fave products of 2012 were down below!

Aussie Aussie Aussie! FOTD

Oi Oi Oi!

On Saturday was Australia Day, better known as "Straya Day" to some (in case you didn't know, we love our slang!) It is that awesome day where you beach it, bbq & drink and have fun with friends & family. This year my brother, his gf & our mate came down to celebrate with us on the long weekend.

So of course I had to make my makeup Aus day themed, although it looks more American & French than aussie because the colours are the same but it was too much effort to draw the union jack onto my eyes :P But I loved it none the less, and I just received these glitters 2 days before!

I made sure to blend the colours well, until I added the glitter & couldn't blend them!
Silly me wearing glitter to the beach, as I was in the water and got splashed I got glitter in my eyes (I don't normally wear eye makeup when I go, btw!) but that doesn't matter :)

~Products~
Face: I only wore a light cover of Rimmel Wake Me Up Fdtn & Garnier BB Cream & NARS laguna bronzer.
Eyes: MAC Painterly
NYX White base
Inglot Matte White e/s (sorry too hard to look up number XD)
Red & Blue shadow from 120 palette
Tan blending colour from Bh Cosmetics Day & Night.
LA Splash glitters: Starlight Red, Deep Blue Sea
Maybelline Master Precise
Nyx Slide on Pencil- Sunrise Blue
Essence I <3 Extreme volume mascara
 Lips: Sportsgirl Fruit Tingle

In-coincidentally I ordered these glitter colours without realizing they would come in handy!
Also I mentioned I did some nail art on my toe nails, it's not the neatest but its.. cute? I also did this last year ;)

And a couple of other pictures....

Being a poser enjoying the sun on the jetski hehe
Now we are ready to head out! Hmm looks like I cut my hair!
Thanks for looking! If you celebrate Australia Day I hope you had a fun day & partied hard! :D

No Mirror Makeup Challenge

This challenge has been going around on Youtube for a while & I've wanted to try it for a long time to see how I would go. Although it is harder to verify that you didn't cheat by not videoing it, I'm sure my makeup will hold the truth!
So I wanted to do a more difficult makeup look, I've seen some really easy ones! So I went with smoky eyes & red lips.... this shall be interesting!
 Hello sexy lady!

Haha it actually wasn't as bad as what I thought.... if that eyebrow was normal & my lips weren't overdrawn it could actually be worn out.... I'm sure some people wear eyeshadow worse than this without realizing how bad it is! I was quite pleased with my blush & contouring, and the fact that my eyeshadow was not everywhere. I did forget about fall out, though!

In case you were wondering I used..
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil 'Black Bean'
Sleek Bad Girl: Black, slate.
Bourjois eyeliner as a base for lower lash line.
Maybelline Master Precise (I knew I was going over the place with this but it didn't turn out too bad,  see that outer v I created!?)
Nyx Long Lip Pencil 'Plush Red'
BYS Matte l/s 'Tango'

Now I expect to see all of you doing the no mirror challenge haha but if you do please link below! It is actually quite fun to do & suspenseful to see how it will turn out in the end.

Recent Nail Designs, obsessed with gradients!

I haven't properly posted my NOTW for a while so I've put together quite a few that I have done recently! We have had gel at my work for a little while so I was playing around with it a bit there but the truth was I missed playing with my colours which I did not want to neglect!

Ever since I used the cling-wrap method here I've wanted to do it again . Sadly I have to have my nails short for work- I've always had long nails so it sucks for me. =/

Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Material Girl, Sportsgirl Nail It! in Bionic.

I hadn't used a shatter polish for a while so I used my Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat polish in 06 Antiqued Gold over the top of Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Hissy Fit.
China Glaze Sweet Hook, Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber One less Lonely Girl.

My *first* go at gradient nails so it is a mess but I liked the colours together. You can still see my white base & there are gouges out of them and I had sponge sticking to my nails because I stupidly did not wet it first. I used China Glaze Pool Party, OPI Hot n Spicy & Ulta 3 Honolulu.

My Ombre nails which is different to a gradient as it does not fade subtly into another colour. I've already posted this Christmas mani. I used O.P.I's Goldeneye & Nicole by O.P.I Justin Bieber in OMB!. It was quite funny Christmas day we were lazing around that afternoon out in the sun when I bought out a nail polish to change my toes, and the ladies wanted theirs done so I brought out most of my collection (they were in awe over it hehe) and I ended up doing it for them too.

This was my NYE mani which I've again already posted but wanted it to be apart of this post, using OPI Koala Berry & OPI the living daylights. It didn't look as nice as how I thought it would!

My 2nd proper attempt at gradient nails, using Australis Nail Colour in Bombshell, China Glaze Sweet Hook & Rimmel 60 seconds in Bonzai. Still not perfect!

One of my fave mani's I have ever done, I think, my sunset gradient nails! I fell in loove with the contrast of the blue against the other colours. And the sparkles of course!

OPI Blue My Mind, OPI Too Hot Pink To Hold Em, OPI Hot n Spicy, China Glaze Yell-O-Neil, OPI China Glaze Snow Globe.

At the moment I have Australia day themed nails, which is coming up this sat 26th, on my toes I have the flag design & on my fingers, green & gold. Aussie Aussie Aussie!

Thanks for looking girls I hope you like my nail designs! I want to start posting my nail polish collection, one day anyway haha, would you prefer to see them in brands or by colour?

xx
