A little while ago now, I finally had gotten around to watching Marlena from Makeupgeek tv on youtubes' last cocktail inspired look.. (I'm sorry I forget the name now, Berry Mojitio?- I'll look it up later) but straight away I was inspired by the colour combo & placement. Well I guess you can't say this is inspired- I just wanted to try her tutorial exactly how she did it. & I love it!!

More Nakedness~

Hey beautifuls. Still been really busy & haven't had a chance to go on blogger since last week! Hopefully it's slowed down more. Updates about the new job later!

So I still love playing around with my Naked palette & finding out new combos. You will see a ton of work looks with them since its so easy to reach for in the morning.
This is one of my fave combos from the palette, which I find is a  gorgeous sexy smokey eye. I wore this to work & had a horrible customer that day who abused me, (retail- that figures!) & I cried when she left :( So I ruined my makeup dammit, & we were going out for tea that night but we were going to the gym beforehand anyway so I had to redo it.
~Look 1~

Cheeks- E.L.F blush in Peachy Keen. Lips- bare, except for  lip balm.
So & I out for dinner that night. Well we were with family as well :)
Eyes- Sin all over the lid (originally I started with sidecar but changed my mind). After I completed the look I added some gold from the Sleek Storm palette because I didn't want it to be too pinky.
Gunmetal applied diagonally to the outer corner & outwards, blending into the crease. Creep added into the outer v & blended.
Hustle applied lightly into the crease with a pointed crease brush.
Black eyeliner under on lash line + underneath the eye, smudged out with gunmetal.
Lightest colour from sleek storm as a highlight.

~Look 2~  Day to Night
Yukky blending- being in front of the window the light picked it up.

Ok so this is a way older look. Stila Kitten is on the lid with Creep in the outer corner, I applied it so it was more of a cat eye shape but it didn't execute well in the pics. Naked is blended into the crease.

NiGHT

Added more eyeliner, made outer corner darker with smog, more blush & brighter lipstick- Nyx Spellbound.

No editing.. pic just turned out super purple. I like it, haha.

Thanks gals & guys, hope I can get some more drafts organized soon!!!

Bird Inspired #1 Parot

Hey everyone! Another quick post, no time to check in!
In our backyard we have a lattice set up where we keep a bird bell (bird seed in the um shape of a bell lol). Quite often we have some Parots (or some sort of colourful bird haha- not too sure which species- maybe Lorikeets? ) that are usually in pairs but sometimes we can have up 5 at one time. Anyway... I have been meaning forever to use their gorgeous colours as inspiration.
Hard to see how bright their colours are.

These pics where taken before I did the rest of my makeup. So excuse the brows!

Picture borrowed from Google.

Pink stars- mixed together on lid.
White star-outer corner + undereye
Orange stars- Mixed together for crease
Green stars- mixed for above green
Not pictured- Red for under eye, white for inner corner.

Room for improvement; Blending the blue & green together. I find the blues are hard to blend with the 120 palette.
-Blending the red into the blue- I pictured it to look so much better but It didn't turn out that way.
-Eyeliner was a little bit off. whoops!
-Could have added something to the waterline

I want to recreate this look sometime but change up the colour placement & add some falsies. I actually wore this look to work & was going to tone it down but thought 'stuff it!'

Thanks for looking- I know there's still a lott of room for improvement as stated above so if you would like to add any more suggestions for next time I'd like to here them!!
Edited just for fun... I def. need falsies with this look!!

My fave way to wear blues

Hey guys! I thought I would save some posts as drafts if I am going to busy, that way it will feel like I'm still here :)
So this is a look that I did a few weeks ago, & I have to say it is probably my fave way to wear blues without going OTT. Most people are intimidated by it, I think they have a phobia of looking 80's but I've learned that there's a lot of ways to wear it without looking like Mimi!
I don't know how I look so 'warm' here!!!

Silly face!! :P

I also used the nude colour to highlight.

Nyx JEP in milk as base + waterline.
Eyes- Designer Brands palette (Pictured)
Dark blue from 120 palette.
Maybelline Liquid eyeliner

Cheeks- Nyx peach blush
Lips- Nyx soft lip cream in Tokyo

Looking back, I could have blended the darker blue more with the lighter blue. & I needed to clean up underneath the eye O.o Otherwise I liked this look- very similar to a look I did years agoo
I loved this when I did it. Same colours except matte. Eyebrows have arched a lot since then!!
Thanks for looking lovely's- What is your fave way to wear blue eyeshadow???

Dramatic Gold with red lips + update

Firstly, the update: Some of you may have read that I am doing a beauty traineeship... well I am actually starting next week!! So for the first few weeks I will still probably be working nights at my other job.. so I will finish early at the salon then go across town (luckily the town isn't too big haha) to that job & by the end of the day I will be exhausted!! But then I will be keeping only 2 nights at that place so it wont happen all the time.. but unfortunately for me it will be less time to blog & check out other blogs :(

Anyhoo the other weekend we had to help with some makeup for a local fashion show!! It turned out to be plenty of other salons there as well to do makeup & a few people to do hair so we didn't do too many people. More talk of that at the end of the post.

For this day (I had to work in the morning) I did a gold eye using the Naked palette (haa, well had to do makeup at the SO's place in the morning so it was easier to transport) & a quick winged eye which only took me like 2 minutes but I reaally like how it turned out.. I guess I should stop blabbing & move on to the pics, eh?

1 eyebrow is more angled then the other ha.. ignore that!

Using the "Soft Skin" mode on my camera.
For the lips here I dabbed on some of Avon's Ultra Rich Colour L/S in Really Rosy to keep it not too OTT for work.

And then for some reason I added Rimmel's Shocking Pink over the top.... I am wearing my work shirt so please ignore that.

& den.. after work I made it more red! I had been dieing to use Nyx's soft matte lip cream in Amsterdam forever.
Ignore me looking like a ghost!!!!
A closeup of the lips:
Unfortunately it went yukky after a little bit coz I kept licking my lips & I should have exfoliated earlier... so I added more of Shocking Pink before we started doing the makeups. We had also gotten there too early so we went for a coffee & I had a horrible red outline that wouldn't be fixed with the lip cream.

Of course.. a few closeups of the eyes.. so the shadows I used were:
(all from the UD naked palette, of course) Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Virgin. I used Nyx black bean for the e/l. I went right into the inner corner which I never usually do, & I liked it except the line could have been a bit thicker & I should have gone over it after applying the highlight.

Anyway... the fashion show!!
I got a few pics but didn't ask them if it was cool for me to post online...so I cropped them to the eyes only for this post. The girls who were in the show were all year 12. & they had made their own clothes. All of it was amazing! Through the show I was like, I would buy that, & that... hahah... so many talented girls.

Part of our set up.. we were the first ones there so we got the best space & took up a bit too much room!! After I used something I would put it back down anywhere so we kept misplacing stuff that we needed! (that we found later haha) I also brought my own palettes & brushes along, the 120 palette was useful to others!
I went with my MIL. Like I said, we got there too early, had a coffee, got more stuff then came back. It was only us 2 from her salon coz another girl pulled out at the last minute. But we didn't end up needing her.
There were 3 categories: formal, casual & wearable art. We were originally designated to do the casual but we helped with some formal & helped fix up some other things. There were plenty of other people that were doing the wearable art & stuff- there was a girl who did checkered eyes, and someone that did black swan makeup.

The girls mostly had already done their foundation before hand, so we only needed to add to it & finish the look. We ended up doing probably about 4 girls, & we were working together to do the eyes, face & lips, which made it easier. MIL would work on the eyes while I did the lips etc. To be honest I was nervous at first but got right into it.

We had to apply a lot of makeup so it would stand out on stage, def. not something for everyday.
Heaps of blush had to be added & the eyes & lips had to be defined so they would stand out.

I didn't have enough time to work on this but she was really happy with it... wish I could fix that eyeliner up now!! haha. The glitter doesn't really show up here but on stage you could see her eyes sparkling :) Should have filled in her brows though!

I tidied up the brows & did the e/l & the highlight (MIL did the e/s)

Holy small pics batman... 1st girl MIL did eyes, I did her foundation/cheeks & lips. 2nd girl we touched up her e/l to make it stand out.
Bad pic taken from far away.. I did her eyebrows which are a lot darker than what they were before.

So at the end of the night we had an awesome time. We weren't going to stay & watch the whole show but we changed our minds.. in the green room where we were set up they had a screen so you could watch the stage, but it was too hard to see so we went & watched it & then came back in between breaks to go to the snack table :P & all of the girls were so happy with how they looked & the people who were organizing the event were so happy to have us help, even though we didn't do much compared to others!!! But we def. want to do it again next year.

Okk so I'm sorry for blabbing too much... kudos if you read that all but I won't blame you if you don't ;)

Hope you have a good weekend :D

Smoke & Glitter~ Pic Heavy

So this is a delayed post from the other weekend.. we had hired out a bus for my aunties birthday & decorated it & went out for tea to a place that's about 25 minutes out of town.. by the time we had picked everyone up it took us over an hour & we had (between us girls) 5 bottles of champagne 0_o
Anyway, I went smokey again but decided to add some glittaa & I was going to do lashes but ran out of time 'coz I did my aunties makeup before..... pics of that at the end!

Playing around with the colours.. this is probably more correct.
Before I changed my clothes.. coz I like the way my hair looks he he

Added some lipgloss because I wasn't too happy with the lip colour.... after all of those damn photos >.<
I also layered some Nyx Iris over Revlon Nude Attitude (whats wrong with that picture.. bahah), but that's the basics. For the eyes I first used The Face Shop uh Shimmer Stick in silver then Stila Kitten & then the black shade in that palette, then Pixie Epoxy over that & Nyx Purple Glitter. Cheeks- Nyx Natural Cream blush, MAC Peachykeen & Nyx White pearl chrome e/s

~Aunties Makeup~
She doesn't wear eyeshadow often but I take after her in loving beauty & makeup, & she lives 2 houses down which makes it very convenient :) I used Nyx JEP in Yoghurt, the Naked Palette (ba-da-bummm) & if I can recall it was Sin, Smog, Darkhorse & Creep for the e/l
Thanks for looking gals! Ha ha sorry about soo many pictures, I take heaps & then go through them all on photofiltre (which is a huge process- I crop, re-size, & compare against each other) & normally its a bit hard to choose between them. Lol :P
